Our Beliefs

At our church, you will hear the word “gospel” repeatedly because it is the most important truth that we can know and experience. The gospel is not merely a message that needs to be shared with non-Christians, but also with Christians. It is not something that mature Christians move on from, but rather something that they move deeper into. The gospel is the lens in which we should view theology, ministry, and all aspects of life.

The Apostle Paul defined the word “gospel” concisely in 1st Corinthians 15:3-5 when he wrote, “Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.” Simply put, the gospel is all about Jesus’ life, death and resurrection, and the implications it has for us.

A Letter from our Pastor

Dear Friend,

We are very glad that you decided to visit our website and see what Calvary Chapel is about. We invite you to visit us this Sunday and sincerely hope your faith will be encouraged, challenged or strengthened. If you do not have a church home, we would love to have you join our church family and we can assure you of two things: you will be loved and faithfully fed with God’s Word here. There are many ways to get connected with us at Calvary Chapel Tampa to make friends, grow spiritually and serve others. Check out our many opportunities to connect on the Calendar or Ministries page or visit our Welcome Booth when you come to see us in person. You can speak to one of our friendly volunteers, ask questions and pick up more information. Please know that we would love to learn more about you and get to know you better. I love to meet our new visitors after the worship service, so please come and introduce yourself to me. We at Calvary Chapel Tampa look forward to getting to know you more and coming alongside you on your walk with Christ.

Mike Holm - Pastor

Pastor Mike has been serving the Lord for over 40 years. He is a kind, loving and humble man whose heart is on fire for the Lord. You will immediately feel the love and genuineness that flows from him.

Jay Otero - Assistant Pastor

Pastor Jay has been a disciple of Jesus since 1996. He is married to his lovely wife Debra since 1990 and together they love the Lord and have been serving Him since. They have three adult children, one grandchild and two on the way. He was ordained in 2009 as assistant pastor of Calvary Chapel.
